The tent lined streets of State College were the setting for this year’s Central Pennsylvania Festival of the Arts, also known as Arts Fest. This year’s event boasted 300 artists with offerings of glass, jewelry, leather & more. A group of 13 Blue Mountain volunteers hit the streets at Arts Fest to help vendors by working in their booths while they stepped away temporarily, and, also, ran assorted errands for them.
Some of the highlights from Arts Fest include:
- Children and Youth Sidewalk Sale – Young people’s arts and crafts are the focus of the day.
- Live Performances – Arts Fest provides free, live musical entertainment during the event on three different stages
- Silent Auction – Arts and crafts donated by the event vendors are auctioned off to help raise money to support festival programs.
The mission of Arts Fest is to celebrate art with presentations of diverse, high-quality visual and performing arts through the cooperative volunteer support of the community and The Pennsylvania State University. This annual event brings over 100,000 visitors to the area each year.
