With most of our time spent heads down and enveloped in our work, Blue Mountain welcomes the chance to take a break from the everyday activity to get our hands dirty and give back to the community.
Recently, five Blue Mountain volunteers spent some time helping with the McCoy Dam Project. Along with 15 other people, they helped to plant hundreds of trees. Due to limited access to the location, the trees, and the equipment used to plant them, had to be brought to the worksite via a boat.
“This was a great volunteer activity demonstrating the values we use every day at Blue Mountain – hard work, team work and working with other organizations and it was rewarding way to celebrate Earth Day” said Jim Erickson, President, Blue Mountain Quality Resources.
But, this isn’t the only outdoor project our team members helped with…in the past we have worked with:
- Pennsylvania Chapter of Trout Unlimited
- Clearwater Conservancy
- Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources
