On Earth Day, April 22, 2015, a team of Blue Mountain employees had the opportunity to work with Trout Unlimited and the PA Fish and Boat Commission (PAFBC) on a project to conserve, protect and restore one of our area’s premier trout streams.
Our team planted tree seedlings at Fisherman’s Paradise fishing area. This area is operated by PAFBC and is designed to serve as a model for effective habitat improvement.
The Blue Mountain team got lucky with the weather, the skies cleared up just in time for us. We dug, fertilized, planted, matted, tubed and staked well over 100 new trees!
This was the 2nd time we’ve partnered with Trout Unlimited. Last year we had the pleasure of working with them on the McCoy Dam section of Spring Creek. Happily, an after-winter assessment of those seedlings proved a 90% success rate. An extraordinary outcome! The experts attributed that success to the quality of the work that we did.
Embracing high expectations not only in day-to-day work, but also in community efforts is a trait we are proud of in our employees.
Our team’s heartfelt gratitude to Trout Unlimited and PAFBC for their daily efforts to conserve, protect and restore our natural environment and to Blue Mountain for an awesome company environment; sponsoring our time so we may help out on these community projects.
