On May 29th Blue Mountain celebrated National Bike Month with our 3rd annual Blue Mountain Bike Ride. State College, PA was recently ranked No. 9 out of 154 cities and communities for 2015, ranking it as “very bikeable” by Bike Score.
Two of State College, PA’s townships also received recent recognition. Ferguson Township and Patton Township ranked number 5 and number 8 respectively as Best Suburbs in Pennsylvania. These ranks were given by Niche.com and are based on livability using grades for weather, safety, schools, access to activities, jobs, housing and transportation.
Our group took advantage of our bike paths, friendly community, and the beautiful afternoon to ride a loop through State College, onto Penn State campus and back to the office. Our Sr. Software Developer and cycling enthusiast, Brad, did an excellent job of organizing. He planned the route and pace so that the ride was comfortable for cyclists of all levels.
For anyone who’d like to get out and ride this June, check out The Great Cycle Challenge. The Great Cycle Challenge encourages riders across the United States to challenge themselves and set their own personal riding goal throughout June and to fight kids’ cancer through the Children’s Cancer Research Fund.
Get on your bikes and ride for a cause!
