An elegant solution

August 4, 2009

I'm biased, of course, but have you realized just how elegant a solution Blue Mountain Regulatory Asset Manager is? I know, you're not going to take my word for it, but think about it.

Here's an application that brings together the functionality and usability of at least three different systems (maintenance, calibration and validation), accommodating the unique needs of each group without creating a massive kludgey system that feels like a bolting together of multiple applications and functional modules together.

Now, compare that with the other options out there. There are maintenance systems that have been tweaked to offer basic calibration tracking (often requiring upwards of 10 different components or "applications" to achieve it), forcing metrologists to work like maintenance experts. Then there are calibration systems that offer basic maintenance management functionality, but lacking the essentials for effective maintenance management.

I'll tell you our secret, if you promise not to tell our competition. We've been able to avoid spending development resources on chopping up the system into modules and separate applications for people whose needs involve just one department. Through our concurrent user licensing model, charging by the number of users in the system and not the functionality used in the system, we haven't needed to compromise the usability of the complete system to offer functionality to a subgroup. Whether you have people using the maintenance functionality or not, from a metrology standpoint the system looks like a CCMS. And for maintenance people, it looks and works like a CMMS. And if your site is using both, then you can take advantage of the collaboration of a single system with all that information about assets available at one place, immediately at your fingertips.

But the elegance doesn't end there. No sir / 'mam! Blue Mountain Regulatory Asset Manager also allows you to track lot information and process validation to create a complete picture and offer more depth in impact assessments. All this functionality, and much more I don't have room here to mention, with the ability to map your existing business processes into the software, transferring that burden from people to computers, reducing risk and improving compliance in the process.

And behind the scenes, there are tools like the user defined record types that provide an elegant way to add your own unique functionality into the software, without any custom development. So if you want to bring a group into the fold of the single system, be sure to ask about what workarounds may be possible. Because there's likely an elegant workaround we can help you put together.

So, I ask you, quite seriously now, if you are doing calibration and maintenance at your facility, and particularly if you need to follow cGMP requirements, why wouldn't Blue Mountain Regulatory Asset Manager be part of your vision for how to manage your assets? If you have an answer to this question, feel free to set me straight on this, shoot me an email at Marketing@coolblue.com.

The market is getting behind Blue Mountain Regulatory Asset Manager. Customers are coming to the software as a comprehensive solution, for calibration only and for maintenance only. So what's holding you up?
